WOW! Is all I have to say. I did a mission trip to Kaya, July 2009 and those boys have forever changed my life! This brought tears to my eyes again, thanks for the reminder of what is going on over there!

That is a very touching story, what a great experince to have-while still in high school! I recently rode on a plane, from Orange County, Calif. to Denver and sat next to a teen and her mother. The teen spent the entire flight talking about her graduation party-having to outspend and outshine her friends' parties. I felt so scared for when my daughter is older-for her comfortable life to translate into her taking things for granted. Again, what a great story and good insight into what giving truly means.

I loved reading about Stephanie's summer in Bolivia. It makes me feel especially good because 3 hours ago I put my youngest daughter on a plane for Cochabamba, Bolivia, where she will be working with children for the next two (but probably more) years. Knowing that she can make a real difference in these children's lives, as Stephanie did, makes it worth giving her up. This has been one of the hardest things I've done as a mother, yet at the same time, I know where she is, I know she's following God's leading, I know that she is making a difference in this world. It's very different from mothers who are grieving over their children who have dissappeared, or whose life is in drugs, etc. Thank you Stephanie for sharing.

Hi, Eunice,

Thank you for what you do for the children in La Paz/El Alto. They are very dear children. I pray for them all the time. Please tell them that they are not invisible. Many people know and want to help. Also, most importantly, God sees them and even knows when a hair of theirs drops on the ground.

Thank you again so much for what you do for these dear, but confused children. Please help them to be warm this week, when it snows.

The story of Miguel reminds me of a time I innocently showed the film Dumbo to a group of similarly abused children in a classroom during lunch in a Los Angeles elementary school. They stood up, yelled and started throwing their tater-tots at the TV/VCR, irrate at the treatment Dumbo's mom Mrs. Jumbo was receiving and deeply disturbed by her imprisonment!
